Amanda Spitzig, BA (Hons), MES, JD, is an Associate with Willms & Shier Environmental Lawyers LLP. Amanda practices at the intersection of environmental law and litigation, Indigenous law, and natural resources law. She provides strategic advice to a wide range of clients, including corporations, land developers and property owners, insurers, Indigenous communities, and individuals. Amanda assists clients in understanding and achieving compliance with their federal, provincial, and municipal environmental regulatory requirements and responsibilities.

Before joining Willms & Shier, Amanda spent time with the Government of Canada where she led Crown consultations on major resource development projects in Ontario, and provided support on Canada’s negotiation of self-government agreements and modern treaties with Indigenous communities. Amanda holds a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Legal Studies and Business, from the University of Waterloo, a Master in Environmental Studies from York University, and a Juris Doctor from Osgoode Hall Law School. Amanda is called to the Bar of Ontario.

Amanda is a Director on the Board of OAIA, and is the Secretary and IAIA Liaison.
