Lee Doran, Past President of the OAIA 2001 – 2002
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our long-time friend and supporter, Lee Doran, on December 20, 2018.
From 1970 on, Lee worked as a passionate and dedicated environmental consultant across Canada. During that time he gave expert testimony and advice on numerous project environmental assessments. Lee also played a key role in the development and implementation of environmental assessment standards for the International Finance Corporation, the private sector arm of the World Bank. Lee assisted clients with the implementation of the Equator Principles, the financial sector’s premier standard for project reviews.
During his time as President of the OAIA, Lee was responsible for overseeing the launch of our first website. He was also a key supporter for the establishment of an OAIA endowment fund that today provides financial support to students interested in pursuing topics related to impact assessment.
Lee was a tireless supporter of the OAIA. He will be sorely missed.
