As part of the outcomes of the OAIA 2020 webinars on Modernizing Ontario’s Environmental Assessment Legislation – The Past, Present and Future – OAIA generated two reports for Ontario’s Ministry of Environment, Conservation and Parks.
OAIA’s reports include recommendations and comments to Ontario regarding proposed changes to Ontario’s Environmental Assessment Act.
OAIA provided comments on the Ministry of Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP) proposed Project List as part of the changes to Ontario’s Environmental Assessment Act through Bill 197. We made recommendations and comments on each sectoral proposal and recommended mining and regional and strategic IAs be included. Our submission draws on expertise and outcomes from the webinar series.
