Sandy Nairn, MCIP, RPP, is the National Manager for Environmental Planning with WSP with over 28 years’ experience in Impact Assessment in Ontario specializing in transportation infrastructure.  He is a long-standing member of OAIA and is a Registered Professional Planner.  Sandy has completed well over 100 environmental planning assignments for various public and private sector organizations.  His career experience includes application of various IA regimes working with Indigenous communities, government ministries, municipalities and private sector developers.  In addition, Sandy has provided expert advice to clients on EA process, policy development and EA Compliance Audits.

Sandy has significant experience in all aspects of impact assessment process and implementation associated with infrastructure projects including public and Indigenous consultation, agency negotiation, alternatives evaluation, effects and mitigation, IA documentation, federal IA requirements.  He has managed the environmental process component of several contentious, complex, multi-faceted infrastructure projects.  Sandy has also been a Project Manager for several assignments including infrastructure master plans, EA policy and audit projects.
